Breast Thermal Imaging

Breast Thermal Imaging (BTI) is a procedure that is based on infrared technology and is non-invasive, safe and painless; no radiation or compression is used. It takes about 30 minutes. BTI was FDA approved in 1982 to be adjunctive to mammography for breast cancer screening.

Studies have shown that an abnormal infrared image is the single-most important marker of high risk for developing breast cancer! BTI can detect signs of physiological changes due to inflammation or increased tumor-related blood or lymphatic flow approximately 8-10 years before mammography or a physical exam can detect a mass. Thermal imaging can offer you up to a decade’s worth of time to take control of your lifestyle and nutrition. This empowers you to take control of your health. BTI is an integral component of Dr. Salter’s preventive oncology program.

BTI identifies patients at the highest risk for potential breast cancer. In addition or identifying physiological changes of inflammation and /or increased blood or lymphatic flow, which is predictive of cancer, earlier detection of breast cancer is possible with thermal imaging. Younger, healthier women tend to have denser breast tissue. It is challenging for a traditional mammogram to get a clear reading on dense breast tissue. False results or missed tumors are a concern with mammograms and self- exams. BTI can detect already formed cancer at a far earlier stage than a mammogram. Thermal imaging is non-invasive, radiation-free, painless and economical.
